Alternator light is on at start up.

I just replaced my alternator(the old one stopped charging), and when I first start my car, the alternator light comes on and stays on for around 10 min, then it goes away. I don't know why it does this, but it is starting to get on me nerves. Any idea as to what the problem might be?

i would first check all connections and if everything looks good then go to an autozone or somethig of that sort that will run a free diagnostic for the car they can tell u in more detail waht the problem might be. you can also try to reset the computer by unhooking the batery waiting 8 min, then hook it back up and start the car and let it idle for a min, the light might never come on again

Everything was hooked up right, so I reset the ECU and it seemed to take care of the problem. Thanx dude.
