So my car has been for the past few days, been making a squeaking noise that gradually goes away. I didn't really think to much of it until recently. Just making a little noise that will go away around 3ish 3.5k.

Well a groaning pop sound happened today when I was driving battery light jumped on signifying the alt belt had jumped.

Well when I got the car home I noticed the alt pulley had a break in it.
It'd been squeaking for a few days, pre-my over rev incident.

Anything I should do? I took a bar and tried to move my crank pulley, nothing happened there. So anything I need to check besides that?

Also, the was a wee hot after the belt jumped.

Thanks man, I really didn't want to move it, it's less than a 5 minute drive to my lift and that night I didn't want to leave it up there unattended, so I moved it twice and it sat all night and cooled and went immediately to the shop. Under 3k rpms the ENTIRE time, I still heard squeaking, which I assume is the crank pulley wobbling around.

Right there man. I haven't moved it since, besides to try to put it on the lift. And that was it.

Bought a Doorman OEM replacement for now.

You may want to rethink that. I bought a brand new "OEM" one from O-Reilly's (which may very well have been a Dorman), and it literally came apart in about 400 miles. Fortunately it happened just as I pulled into my driveway at idle. I replaced it with a Mitsu OEM one and never had an issue.

I run a Fluidampr now, but otherwise I would only go with a true Mitsu factory OEM balancer direct from satan or a vendor that I KNEW was supplying factory OEM.

Just my .02

More news, pulley is fine, no cracking.

Bad news, alt pulley has damage. Belts were original belts as well. Car had sat for a while.
