Alright, this doesn't make any sense. Rear rubbing issues...

I was lowered about 2.5" slammed on coilovers. I'm running 18x8 wheels with 35mm offset on 225/35/18 Hankook tires. With a rear camber kit I NEVER rubbed EVER. I have now raised the car over an inch and slapped on 225/40/18 Wanli tires. I'm rubbing when i turn corners or hit bumps in the back. If i go back to 225/35/18 tires, i'll have ugly wheel gap.

Why am I rubbing? Is it the difference in tires? Hankook tires tend to have a low profile and fit snuggly and the Wanli's are a little bit beefy. Could this be my problem or am I taking crazy pills? The guy's at Les Schwab told me it's because of the 35mm offset. I could understand that it would make the wheels stick out just a little, but why did it work before when i was slammed to the ground?

Here's a pick while i was really low with the wheels on and no problems at all.

Well Its Almost Have To Be The Tire If You Had 35's On There And Now U Have 40's. Yah I Would Say That Is What It Is.

Yeah since you stepped up the profile, the tire's the new problem. The overall problem is that 35mm offset. Too bad those Enkeis are so damn expensive to just go buy new ones. I LOVE the GTVs though.

I thought that by raising up the car I would be able to slap some 40's on. Even with 40's i have a bigger gap then I had when i was really low with 35's and not rubbing.

Thanks 98SpyderT! I love the GTV as well. I guess i'm so frustrated because these wheels are $497 a piece.

I'm guessing the new tires, while still 225s, are just wider at the corners. Like you said, they're beefier. If you had the original brand in 40s, they might not be a problem. I don't have experience with either tire though so I wouldn't know for sure.
