I'm thinking about upgrading my deck, but this would require new speakers as my current ones are blown. I had a Conquest that had dash speakers and it was the biggest PITA to take the dash speakers out and I don't want to get deep into my new 1g right yet. I'm assuming they are wired together with the front speakers and they split off somewhere in the dash and come into the deck as one set of wires? I wouldn't mind disabling them but if its not to hard to get to em then I will go ahead and order some replacements. Anyone give me some idea of the job.

Thanks guys.

wow that easy eh? Chrysler decided on the Conquest to not use covers but use the dash to cover them LOL.

Thanks for the reply man.

no prob...id say the biggest pain is if your wratchet is too tall itll hit your windshield before the bolts come all the way out....nothing major though, good luck

anything negative to just unhooking the dash speakers and taping the wires up?

I don't mean to jack your thread, but I have a question about those speakers as well. My question is how many of you that have aftermarket systems replace those small speakers with aftermarket ones? Or do you just unplug them? Is the sound quality better with them? or is it not really worth it?

The dash is a bad location for speakers... dont use those and just get a nice component set and mount the tweeter somewhere angled toward the passengers.
