I'm wondering what all I need to install my intake system. Here is a picture of all i got. I plan on using my oem tubing thats on the car now. I have two metal clamps thats not in my picture. Is there a site that show step by steps instructions? So far the one's i visited has words but the pictures been deleted. I need to plan this out because I dont have much time when the sun is out because of work.

thanks,
where do I get the bolts that connect the K&N MAS adapter to the MAS. If at a hardware store do you know the size?

i dunno i used some from a jar i had in the house i only have 2 in that at the moment im gonna go buy some more but i would say about 1 1/2 long and get 8 washers use a washer on each side of the bolt so u don't scuff any thing and so it dose not come undone from vibration. just my opinion

I don't know if it's just me but from the looks of that pic, it seems that the filter adapter is made for the k&n air filter that has a big oval mouth like this one EXTREME PSI : Your #1 Source for In Stock Performance Parts - K&N FIPK Air Filter Kit: Mitsubishi Eclipse 95-99 Turbo, the filter pictured in your post seems to have a round-looking mouth which will not fit with the adapter that is provided with your intake. I would go to extremepsi and have a filter adapter bracket ordered along with a set of screws and nuts. EXTREME PSI : Your #1 Source for In Stock Performance Parts - Vibrant Performance MAF Adapter
Also so your new intake doesn't get oily you could disconnect the vc hose from the valve cover and have it vent. You will still get oil in your intake cause i'm sure you have never cleaned your intercooler pipes, this would be a good time to take off the intercooler pipes and wash them all real good with gas. I know this might not be needed if you are planning to go fmic but if you're not it's just a heads up.

Thanks, I did Buy the wrong filter adapter, It is oval. I kept wondering how this thing was going to fit. That was one of the main reason's i started this thread.

i Bought that adapter that DsmJ89, posted. I still cant get it my K&n filter and the adapter to connect. I have the maf on the injen. Everything all together except the filter.

The filter is about 3 and 3/4 round and the adapter is 4 and 1/2 round. I dont know how to connect them do i need a new filter or adapter?

here are some pics, I know they are dark, I dont have time to fix it, I'm already late for work.

I got a new filter. Yesterday was warm enough outside to finally install it. In a hour I will test it out. I haven't driven my car in about almost a month, I have to replace my whole ignition switch assembly. A guy at work said he will try to fix it for me.

My friend fix it in less then 50 minutes. My other friend who has more experience complain for 2 months how hard it was to fix and that he didnt have time. I need to learn how to do these things on my own. I'm tired of doing easy stuff in the garage.

The turbo spool is alot louder! I dont hear my BOV. Never have. I have a 1gen on the 2gen Talon.

in that picture Munk put up. i guess u can eliminate that hose from the far side to the valve cover and just put a filter like u said. if you do that what do u cover the nipple on the intake pipe with. and i dont mean to steal the post or anything but its kinda on the subject. is there a hose running from the nipples under the recirculation hose as well as the on the front side buy the radiator?

thank you,

Yes, there are two other nipples. One for the charcoal canister, and one to the valve cover. If you do choose not to use these lines, you can simply use a vaccum cap. I would highly advise against removing the line to the valve cover and putting a filter on like you suggested. Just put something in between the line to collect blowby such as a catch can, fuel filter, bottle..etc..

That front nipple goes to the stock boost control solenoid if you aren't using a manual boost controller.

so when i go to put my MBC in just take out that line and put a vacuum cover on the nipple and call it even? should i even bother taking out that solenoid when i do? i know they are pretty noob questions but i am decently new to doing my own work. and thank you for the help. =D

Yes, just put a vacuum cover on that port. Make sure you leave the BCS plugged in though, otherwise it will throw a cel. Just cut the vacuum tubing, and loop the two ports on the BCS, and just tuck it out of the way.
