Air/Fuel Gauge Question

What is the best air/fuel gauge out there. I mean, I am confused on what a narrow band is and what a wide band is. Eventually I plan on getting dsmlink if that makes a difference.
 
Narrowband has an output range of 0-1 volt. It's only accurate at stoich A/F ratio, which is 14.7:1 for gasoline. The farther away from stoich the less accurate it is. Narrowband is what the factory oxygen sensor is. Most A/f gauges are for narrowband sensors and are completely useless.

Wideband has an output range of 0-5 volts and is accurate over a much wider range usually 10:1 to 20:1. A wideband setup consists of a wideband sensor, a control unit, and they sometimes include a display on the unit, or an auxillary gauge. Some have programmable outputs and datalogging capabilities. If you are planning on getting Dsmlink you don't need a wideband with datalogging capabilites.

Well my question is, will the AEM Gauge-type wideband UEGO controller work for monitoring. I just want an air/fuel gauge for monotoring when I get DSMLink. Or do I need something for logging, Im kinda confused :confused:
 
The gauge type AEM UEGO will work perfectly. It has a display to monitor A/F ratio and an analog output so the Dsmlink equipped factory ecu and datalog the A/F ratio as well.

i agree aem uego. i say its worth the money had one in my srt4 real nice. or you can try the ngk one that is out there now its nice and reads a lower a/f r. like down to 9. its at a decent price.
