I will be getting one of these turbo's on wednesday and would like heads-up on what I will need to install it. Can I get around the stock fans? I have heard conflicting information on that. How about the water lines behind the turbo. Besides denting the big one. Is the big one threaded for the stock water line so I can plug it? Any other tips to prepare me are truly appreciated. Mark

Is there no one with a 1G running this 50 trim? How about similsr 50 trims-installation. I found 3posts. Any more?

If you wouldn't have jumped the gun without thinking you could have call AGP and asked them. Its there turbo, they should know better than anyone. Man dont you ask questions before you order stuff.

and you might want to edit you parts wish list noobie, you dont have to buy anything to make over 200hp at the crank, your not driving a honda. Hell your free mods will take you over 200hp at the crank.

Charles I bought the turbo unused fom a private party. I emaled Ben @ AGP. He said the turbo did NOT boost creep wth the internal wastegate. I have had a respected member, Kyle, one of the dsm wiseman say it most likely would. Ben said "some" cars required some trimming of the fan(s) to fit the turbo. Others say I will need to replace them with slimlines. I'm replacing my Big 16G (EVO) though I have no specefic HP goal, rather the way the car pulls is what I am looking for.
Since I did not buy the turbo from AGP and the person who did never mounted it I need to rely on the guys in this club and believe a few do run the turbo. I did searches for the turbo in general and am now looking for answers direct from users of this particular turbo. AGP sells the things. I too hope that vendors never alter the truth in the slightest way though I have been around enough to see the opposite happen.
Don't you think I looked into this turbo before I shelled out $800.? Well now i am looking for info on a different plane, a different level. Slight alterations to me and you might be the difference between night and day though if you had installed an AGP RS 49 we would have a common starting place. Thanks for your advice though as I know you meant to show me a lesson but it's one I learned a few years ago. Mark

Not really mark, cause it looks like you may learn the hard way again and have to shell out more money to make the turbo fit. for that money you could have gotten a 20g that would have fit.

On a side note what mods do you have? It seems to me you didnt even have the supporting mods for that EvoIII 16g to be able to reach its full potential. Hell if you want to sell it let me know. I'll take it and run mid 12's in my heavy ass Galant in no time.

Well Charles I did expect to have to spend more to install the turbo as I will at least need a new intake pipe as my dejon is for the 14b & 16G's. Iknow I will need to fab a lower IC pipe also. Since I live in cenytral N.Y. the car gets into storage at the end of october and I'll have 6 months Lord willing to get a FMIC and piping probably from Dejon. larger injectors will be on the list also. 550's now.
Now I have EVO exhaust, 02 housing abd turbo(sold) all ported. UPIC from dejon with mount for thr GM MAF. I have the Translator also. Wideband 02 meter, boost and EGTgauges. Just last week I added what full thrpottle calls a "scanmaster", really cool as I can watch data in real time making tuning a snap. Stainless exhaust, mandrel bends by Buschur, 2.5" which may go to 3".
A new TRE-spec AWD tranny with a X-ACT flyweel and anACT 2600 clutch kit. 17" x 7.5" Americans with 225's all around. What I am concerned with and want a jump on is the additional parts will need not so much the extra cash. I have the cash but not the knowledge though I am learning quickly!
I bought this turbo for what it is and the price of $800. can't be met. garrett just raised prices 10% bringing the RS 49 as I am getting it to over $1100. plus shipping. Mark
