After replacing the o2 sensor after the cat, do I need to to do anything to clear that CEL code? It takes a normal driving cycle to get the code to throw when the sensor has gone bad, what should be done after replacement?

I have to go in for a NYS inspection in the next week, and I don't want to fail for something stupid, and want to be sure that an old code that no longer applies doesn't do it for me.

are you saying that the Check engine light is still on? or are you saying that you want it out of your cars memory, that you had a light at one time? because if you just want the light off, after you replaced the sensor disconnect your battery for a lil while, then it should reset the ECU, im not sure if the ECU itself stores that a light has been triggered at one point or not. Sorry
