My Friend Bought Some Aem Cam Gears And After Its Installed The Car Idels Really Ruff..i Belive The Timing Is Off By A Tooth Or So Because His Vac Is Like -10..i Need A Diagram Or Some Advice On Setting Them...he Doesn't Have His Stock Ones So We Don't Have Them To Compare... IF ANY HAS A DIAGRAM..thanks In Advance

I had the same problem with my cam aem cam gears, they won't line up. Make sure the crank gear is half tooth before TDC on #1 cylinder(thats to allow for slack when you put tension on the belt), as for the timing gears, Install 180 degrees out from each other(one up and one down)the lines on the gear will not line up perfect. if you had the factory one you would see what im talking about, the easiest way is to take the cam cover off and notice the holes on the cams make sure this are staight up then install gears, and belt, then the tensioner. Turn over by hand a couple times to make sure they go to the same place as slack is taking out as it turns. Also check out the haynes manual for refrence.
Hope that helps you out, Keep us posted!

GOOD LUCK :thumb:

we had to get some stock cam gears online so we can compare the timming marks so once we get that..hopefully it will fix his problems.
