i have a AEM big brake kit drilled/slotted on my car and was wondering if they could be resurfaced. i knew someone that did it to the rotors on their lexus GS300 and they were slotted/drilled rotors. it would just be the front. the rears look ok.

You can cut them. In fact, if they're disassembled, they can be resurfaced on a flywheel resurfacing machine or Blanchard grinder, which is preferable to a lathe. They don't have to be lathe-cut.

Powerslot services these AEM parts now. If you write Powerslot like I did, they'll tell you that the hat-to-rotor fasteners are 5/16 X 24 X 1 grade 8 hex bolts. You'll need matching Nyloks and flat washers too.

Fasteners are torqued in a star pattern in 10# and then 20# increments. The AEM front rotor part number was 29-561 and there's a left and right Powerslot version (PSL-29-561L and R.)

(Disclaimer: I'm not endorsing taking your rotors apart, just repeating what I've been told by Powerslot.)

That said, I just bought a new pair from Cox Import (assembled, with hats) for $117 each including shipping. The new rotors and hats are black and are not drilled. They are slotted. The originals were clear/natural and drilled/slotted. Perhaps yours are too.

With two sets in inventory my car won't be off the road more than the time it takes me to swap sets. I'm going to have the old set resurfaced, reassemble the rotors to the hats with new fasteners, and then store them until next time.
