simple question, Per the DSM manuals it states that you have to remove the engine to extract and replace the AC compressor...is this true?
I am about to drop my rebuild in (1st timer here) and I noticed the starter and AC compressor are shot. Got replacements on the way, but i was wondering if I should wait till they get here to drop the motor with the new parts attached...or just drop the motor and start putting it all back together and then be able to install the new starter and compressor when they arrive.

it doesn't seem logical to design a engine that has to be pulled in order to change out any part...let alone a ac compressor.
any advice?

Your correct, for me I need A/C, with my job I just can't drive an hour in 100 plus degree heat and get to work all sweaty and all. But I understand what your saying. And I think I speak for both myself and staticbrainwash, we didn't mean to get off subject. The compressor probably would be best done with the engine removed. I personally am a lazy bastard, and will have the dealership do it for me.
