I have a 1990 GSX

I bought a Bushur High flow cat to replace the stock. got everything ready. went underneath the car to penetrate it with PB blaster. still couldnt break the grip. it jus wont come loose...i sprayed and sprayed and hammered to knock loose and nothin is working. is it better to heat up the engine or just take it to a mechanic?

also my exhaust manifold studs, half of them are broken off. i only have four holding the exhaust manifold on. should i let the mechanic drill and easy out or should i do it. ive never drilled and used easy out before..ever. i wanted to buy the studs off of slowboyracing.com (stainless steel). should i get those for $45 or go to home depot or lowes...would they have them? and same quality?

Cut the bolts off on the cat or use a long breaker bar. For the manifold bolts, I say good luck. I would not attempt it yourself if you have never done it before. Its a pain to drill them out but can be done. My mechanic says before he attempts a job you have to agree that he may ruin the head and you take all responsibilty. He has had to rebuild peoples heads becuase he has messed them up. You may end up having to do that. The studs I have no idea if they would be the same.
