I have two cars a 91 Eagle Talon TSI and a 92 Eagle Talon TSI AWD. i have multiple questions on both...Ive searched the forums for answers and found them to most of my questions...the following are the ones that i couldn't find answers for.

MY 92 Eagle Talon TSI AWD:

I just recently Rebuilt a motor using the Block from a 98 Mitsubishi GST and everything else except for the water pump is from a 92 Eagle Talon TSI AWD. I fixed all the Little problems with it, like stuff not matching up and what not, the only real question i have is the front mount isnt the same as on my 92...i cant even see where they would put a front motor mount as i cant find any bolt holes to mount anything additional at all.
Is the motor going to be Sturdy enough with out that one mount. I also mated the transmission to it though there is only one bolt on the upper right hand side that didnt match up to the block. It is a tiny bolt compared to the other bolts...is this something that i should worry about. The Tranny seems more then stable but i thought i would still ask.

My 91 Eagle Talon TSI

I just bought this car for a steal and it has a blown head gasket... When i took it for the first test drive i noticed that it was building up way to much boost...it only has the stock Boost Gauge in it right now but its going up to 14PSI and pegging out. I replaced all the vacuum lines for the wastegate to operate. My Friend (definatly not an expert) that it might be because of the blown head gasket... I didnt sound right to me but i was just throwing that out there. Is there anything else i should check before replacing the wastegate actuator?

The blocks in the 2g DSM (95-99) are different than the 1g DSM (90-94). The 1g cars have three motor mounts and one on the trans. The 2g cars have 3 mounts on the trans and one on the engine. The one motor mount you have will not be enough and you need a 1g block (6 bolt blocks were only made from 1990-1992.5) to get the 3 mounts to bolt up. If you don't, your engine will twist really bad and cause a lot of problems.

As for the second car, if it only has the stock gauge, how do you know that it is going up to 14psi? Do a leakdown test to find out of the headgasket is blown and get an aftermarket boost gauge to find out how much the car is really boosting. Or get a datalogging setup and find out if you are getting knock and look at your injector duty cycles. From there you will be able to determine if the car is seeing too much boost.

I hope this helps.

This may help

Just did a quick search figured you wouldn't be the first doing a swap. It says you need a modified 2g motor mount. Sounds like a lot of work! good luck.

Your showing info for doing a 6 bolt swap into a 2g. From what I understand, he is trying to put a 2g 7-bolt block into a 92. It won't work.

I don't think it will work either. Not unless you find someplace to put another rollstop mount on the front somehow.

As for the boost issue, that's not a real boost gauge; the ECU calculates boost pressure based mainly on RPM and airflow. Therefore a huge boost leak would be interpreted as infinite boost pressure since it assumes all that air is being crammed into the intake manifold.

I got the Top right motor mount to work on the 2G motor so its only without the one front motor mount thats just behind the Radiator, once i get the engine cranked im going to bring the car into a Machine Shop and have them make me a direct mount to the frame... It will be an uncomfortable ride as i will feel the engine vibrations but im ok with that :p.

Its really only a temporary set up as i have the original motor up on a engine mount right now and its in the process of being rebuilt. This motor just needs to get me to and from Post which is only 15 miles away for the next 6 months to a year untill i get done with the engine rebuild on the 1g 7bolt.

Other then that i think i worked out all the other kinks in the setup of using a 2G motor with everything else being 1G except for the water pump which i did have to buy new for the 2G motor.

I do know its got a really bad exhaust leak at the exhaust manifold on my 91, its got a blown head gasket for sure... basically what i was asking in short was would bad gaskets cause the stock boost gauge tell me im boosting infinite boost, which i believe is what your telling me. I Appreciate the help guys!

I guess im going to go out a buy a aftermarket gauge for the car to make sure that its not boosting too much because of how inaccurate the gauge is :p.
