I am currently tunin with a wideband A/F meter and the GM MAF-translator.
Here's the mods on my '93AWD Talon
All EVO, all ported, so big 16G

dejon UPIC pipe & intake pipe
MBC @ 18 PSI

I know I need to be timing with software and I have tried but bought from the classified's here and got bum equiptment. I will now be ordering what "pocketlogger" has to offer. In the mean time what is a safe but still making some power and not hitting fuel cut as if I run it too rich it will hit fuel cut at even 16 PSI because the ECU "sees" too much airflow with a rich mixture. I will say that I am around 11.5 now. I run 93 octane.
I have run with some 112 leaded and a 12:1 with 22psi and it screamed. I ran it once like that and in first it hit 7500 before I could react and shift. back to 18 and 11.5 it went as it was a bit scarry and I want the motor to remain operational!! My plan is to have Buschur build and replace my motor at his facility as we are only a state away. That way downtime is minimal and I will have a running core for Buschur! Thanks, Mark

Tuning my car, I shoot for 11:1 to 11.5:1 on the wideband using 93 octane gas too (big16g at 22psi). This should be O.K, but it's a really good idea to take a look at what timing and knock count is doing at these a/f ratios. Since you're a 1g dsm, you should be able to read both timing advance and knock count using a pocketlogger, or some tool. 12:1 a/f ratio on leaded race gas is what people shoot for, but again you really want to make sure you're not knocking.

To be on the safe side, I would say tune it to 11:1 on 93 oct and wait for the pocketlogger to come.

Thanks Mike I will try to call thursday and you too Black. thanks for the advice. Mark
