Hello, I just recently got a 99 Eclipse NT and just had a couple of quick questions. I was wondering if a CEL could be triggered if the air intake filter fell off during driving? Because I just found out that somehow while I was driving home it fell off, while investigating the random CEL that showed up halfway driving home. Also, on a different note, my idle is usually at 820-880 rpm, and it bounces between that. What could cause it to not have a steady idle? I have already replaced the spark plugs (.028 gapped), O2 sensor, and IAC. I've done some work on a 94 Stealth I used to have that had idle problems, and the IAC cleared it right up. What could be the problem with my 420a? Thanks!

Probably the pcv valve. I remember mine used to do that too until i replaced the pcv. And since your not turbo'd then no need to have a spark plug gap at .28 put them back to factory ithink it was .32?
You cant just get a CEL and start changing things to make it go away, you Need to scan it to see what the code means.
