I've got access to 98 Octane fuel right out of the pump for just a few cents more than the regular 92 octane (we've got high octane gas here for some reason).

I've got the stock 14b, 3KGT VR-4 fuel pump (rewired), k&n, 3" turboback, logger, and S-AFC2. Would you say based on the octane rating and a good tune I'd be able to run 18psi? What about when I upgrade the turbo, nothing specific, just what should my mindset be running 98 octane fuel? I'm trying my best not to sound vague, but it's kinda tough, I mean I searched through threads and found reccomendations for pump gas and race gas, but this is kinda right in the middle.

Thanks,

Be aware that most of Europe calculates their octane ratings differently. That 98 octane may actually be the equivalent of 93 octane here in the US. Check the pump for the method used to calculate the given octane rating. The US uses the (R+M)/2 method, where R is research octane and M is motor octane.

i assume u have the stock sidemount intercooler since u didnt list an upgraded one, even so with 98 octane u can run 18 psi easily. You have a datalogger so just moniter ur knock and if it stays at 0 with ur boost setting then you're in good shape.

 Bah, the whole knock thing, got my 3G lifters on order, but right now, I'm reading about 40 counts of phantom knock all over the rpm range because my lifter tick is getting so bad. I actually watched my timing go from like 30 to -15 in a matter of a second the other day. Soon enough it will be fixed.

Also yes, for right now I've got the stock SMIC, ordering a RnR race front mount kit next month. I'm deploying to the desert in May, and I'm gonna be there for 4 months, and will come back with some good spending cash in hand. So probably gonna upgrade turbo, clutch, and the rest of the fuel system and maybe a MAFT as well.

I'll look into the octane reccomendations, this gas is supposedly true 98 Octane though, it's called Shell V-Power or something like that. Also the AGIP's here have 98 available, but I'll check on both. Thanks!
