I'm not sure if this is in the right forum but owell, I was just wondering if anybody saw anything wrong with using leaded fuel (VP 98 octane), as long as i have a CAT bypass tube? correct me if i'm wrong but isn't the only reason for using unleaded fuel because it will clog the cat (and because of the EPA)?

Or you could start making your own high octane fuel, I use 6ounces of xylene to a gallon of gas, and 1 ounce of marvel mystery oil also per gallon for lubrication.

What does that give you for an Octane rating and is that safe?

It probably wouldn't raise the octane all that much.

Xylene and Toluene are 100% safe, and what the gasoline companies use for additives to get different octanes out of their own gas (there are other chemicals too, but different companies use different things).

Some racecars back in the day (I don't think they do anymore) used to run on straight toluene if I remember reading right.
