Scarborough,
Hi Could some one please tell me which belt is being driven by the harmonic balancer. What other pulleys is that belt connected too.

Best,
Mike.

There is two belts directly driven by the balancer: A/C belt (A/C pulley and balancer), and the alternator belt (alternator pulley, water pump pulley, and balancer)

There is then one belt that is driven off of the water pump pulley which is driven by the harmonic balancer: Power Steering Belt (Power steering pulley, water pump pulley)

A more organized version:
A/C belt = A/C pulley, Harmonic balancer pulley
Alternator belt = Alternator pulley, water pump pulley, balancer
Power Steering belt = Power steering pulley, water pump pulley

isnt the power steering run by a smaller pulley on the inner side of the water pump or is that only 1g

Yes, just like the A/C belt is run off the other portion of the harmonic balancer. However, that is still one pulley with different levels. The levels do not turn independently of each other.

Also, none of the belts work if the balancer goes out since it spins all the other pulleys.

Good catch... I just remembered I had to take the AC/Water pump belt off to get to the PS belt... and I thought I took it off at the balancer.

so i guess thats why my battery keeps dying after drivng the car for a bit. Did not find any battery drains, so it must be the broken harmonic balancer since its driven my the alternator.

Well, it could easily be your alternator. A lot of local auto parts stores will test your alternator and battery for free.

Checking your harmonic balancer for separation is never a bad idea though.

When the harmonic balancer broke, the alternator went. running good now :p but engine light is on today, gotta get the code. Thanks for all your help guys
