98 eclipse GS non turbo- fun to drive?

I have a 97 RS on full suspension and a couple BPMs, and it is a very fun car to drive, but it is NOT fast, as you well know. It IS rather quick off the line however, so if you are looking for a street car to tool around in, it might be a good choice. Just realize that you are going to have a lot of problems getting over 200hp without either 5000+, a turbo-kit, or nitrous.

I use to love my NA Talon when I was 16-19 years old. Shifting at 7krpms everywhere I went made me feel like I owned an F1 racecar.

Then I grew up a little got really really sick of how slow it was and how hard I had to push it to keep up with minivans. So I modded it with every bolt on imaginable, gutted the interior and still went nowhere in the car (quickly that is ;) )

Then remembering there was a turbo version available, I sold it off and bought my GSX. I haven't been sorry once. I drive it half as hard to go twice as fast. In my experience the N/A's are fun until you outgrow them. It's more "fun" to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow.

I love my 99 GS. When I bought it I was only 18 so I didn't want to deal with high insurance. Now I can get a turbo kit and be faster than a stock GST, and if I get everything I want I'll be faster than quite a few modded ones.

Just want to say this, i own 2 NT's, 90 and 95, both are reliable because of having no turbo and just being a nt makes it reliable, but since they are getting older every year, stuff breaks.

But i admit they are reliable, and 2gen's have the option to get turbo kit's if you wish later on if you want. But as a nt, they are real reliable engine wise, and the tranny seems to be shifting smooth until now... no grinds for me ever since i bought it, smooth all the way, i like the 420a trannys, they are dope, but im not into the gearing ratio's, but it's all good. good car all around, and like i said you have the option of a turbo kit later on if you want to go even faster... i already have most basic bolt on's, and i admit it isn't fast at all LOL, just had to lay it down there... but something for my car is coming very soon, just have to wait... peace!
