If the battery and or alternator were on their way out the car would have died long ago and would not start after letting it sit for a minute.ALL the lights and electrical components work fine.

I've had the same shut-off symptoms you are experiencing before, and it *DID* have something to do with my battery. Good luck.

Ok I know what is wrong. You did he head job right? Check the EGR pipe and find the wires the are grounding out on it.:thumb: Check the whole pipe. Now it the wires were positive wires then then you might have put a hole in the egr tube. I bet that is the problem.

Yeah, the old egr wire burn. Good call Selmerguy. Certainly a possibility.

I would lean away from battery/alt problems also. Not really the symptoms.

And, of course, you did double check connections?

Nope checked the entire EGR Tube yesterday...nothing....now i got the wrong coolant sensor ordered so i have to wait til it comes in. By the way i noticed last week that the #4 cyl was giving a really really weak spark compared to all the others. So i changed the coil and that didnt help it either...and the plugs were fouled out. Now my thinking is that the CTS being bad would cause the ECU to think the car is cold all the time....hense making the car rich as shit....and hard to start correct?

Ok. now i replaced the sensor...i was told they can only get one but it looks different at the end than the one on the car. The factory one has a fat tip on it and the aftermarket one has a skinny tip? Anyways i put it on...car will only crank....im gonna be out all night checking EVERYTHING POSSIBLE so i will be checking back frequently for any advice. Thanks for everyones help so far i really apprettiate it.

Well im editing this because i thought the car was alright.....wife went to start it this morning and it was a no go again.....thing is the more she kept crankin it it started to sound better but she was late to work so she didnt keep tryin. Now what else can i be dealing with....and the CTS was bad cause now im getting perfect spark again and the plugs arent black. What should i do guys?????
Ed

ALSO forgot to mention....i noticed last night when i would turn the key....fuel pump would prime as normal....turn key back....turn forward same thing....turn back...turn key forward and the pump wouldnt prime???? It does it intermittenly wtf??? Could this be the pump relay causing all this ruckus???

I though the pump is used to prime on when the line isn't pressurized yet, I guess if you keep flipping it on off long/fast enough it won't need to prime.

Make sure your crank sensor is SECURELY plugged in. I remember xmasta checked everything on his car trying to get it to crank, and sure enough the sensor was quite snug enough, and he fiddled with that and it fired right up.
