95 Tsi Awd 4000$?

alright, ive been looking at getting an awd dsm for quite sometime, right now i have a 96 tsi with 86,000 but living in ND i can only drive it 4 months out of the year. i found an awd 95 talon with 140,000 miles and it has an auto. im thinking about trading mine in for the 95 and also get a few dollars out of the deal.

any thoughts on this, and also will the auto really be that much of a buzz kill?

honostly i would keep your car. I mean you have a lot less miles. Thats quite a lot for the 95. Just as a reference I bought my 95 AWD with 84k for 5,000. I try not to buy cars with over 100k unless its a really good deal. Thats my opinion.

i was thinking the same thing when i saw an awd 95 eclipse with 89k for $5500 yet its auto.. and i was thinking of buying it and converting it over to manual but then if you think about the money it takes to convert it over. ??? iam just going to keep looking..

Well I can't stand driving autos, but on the plus side you get good consistant launches, 60' times, and you can torque brake it. That car has alot of miles on it, but 4k isn't too bad. AWD is awsome in the snow. I'm not sure I'd trade in my 86k mile talon for a 140k one though.

I'm also looking to buy this 91 Laser NA for $475 with 180,000 miles.

it's a 1 owner vehicle, interior & exterior is in great shape.

what should i look for in a car with this milage? I'm going to look at it tomorrow.

I think you can find a better deal if you keep looking. I picked up my 97 talon awd, fully loaded and 5 speed, for $4000. It only had 50k original miles too. 1 owner, mid 50's. Great deal, but it has had its fair share of problems. But you get that will all of them... 140k is a LOT of miles IMO.

i bought my 95 awd a/t for 3500 with 145k miles - a/t is funner in the snow then m/t imho.

I'm surprised that it's seen 140k without a huge rebuild or swap.
