95 TSI AWD: 2 Questions URGENT!!!!!!

Well I have ordered a new bov. (Greddy type s) Hopefully that will come today,

Otherwise the car is still running lean and I cannot figure out why. :barf: I am going to order a Fuel pressure regulator, and possibly a different fuel pump.

I think that there is a slight leak on the bottom of my fuel filter, I have tried to tighten it up, but am not sure if I am completely sucessful. Do you think that this could make my Fuel pressure drop... and run lean? Also before a couple of days ago, my car would occasionaly start to run rich for a minute or two, then go back to running lean... What could be the cause of that? I think that my fuel pump is the walbro 190, (but it was replaced right when I got my car, so it is possible that I got one of the 255) So it has been nicely rewired, so I don't think that it is overruning my stock FPR, but I also would think that it should be giving me enough fuel as well. If a new aeromotive FPR doesn't fix the problem, then I am going to switch out all of the fuel lines, and replace my fuel pump, just to eleminate all the possibilities. So I will keep you updated.

Also, for my high idle, I found out that the throttle wasn't springing back all the way once the car gets warmed up, so we adjusted it a bit and its a little better, but I am going to fabricate a nice heat shield to hopefully keep the rest of the engine bay cool. I don't think that my throttle cable is sticking, it is just that the spring almost isn't powerful enough to push the plate back fully when it gets warm.

Sorry for the long reply. I will keep you updated, any help/suggestions would be great. Thanks

if you do have the 255 chances are you ARE overrunning your stock regulator. was your 1g bov crushed/overcrushed, is that why your getting the type s. also for your throttle, clean your throttle plate, and do step 2 found here:
http://www.dsmtuners.com/tuning-guide/2gturbo/stage0power.php
and also if your fuel filter is leaking you should seal the threads with some teflon tape [white, thin plumbers tape for pipes] also do you have a fuel pressure gauge? base pressure should be at like 43 psi.
keep us updated to what you find.

kyle-

HEy phunny if you could describe what your car did/you did to fix that would be great. I did have a timing belt tensioner replaced. However my car was doing pretty much the same thing before that. Let me know thanks
