Okay so i have a 95 talon tsi and am looking to give this car a very bright future. I bought the car for 1000$ not running. i have already got the block head and tranny out of the car and got some forged pistions and rods.i have decided on the forced performance green turbo and now i am runnibg into some questions. Thank you so much for the help in advance.

I plan on this car being very high performance and wanted to know with doing all these things and more.. If i need a new Crank shaft or if the stock crank can handle 500-600hp. .

Any help or suggestions would be awesome, anything else i need on a 500hp build like the diffs.?.

Once again any help would be awesome thanks!

Im pretty sure that if built right, with the right rod's/piston's and tuning that it's possible. Remember tuning is everything. With those HP goals though I would look into a built shortblock from one of the site sponsors.

I have seen a lot of 7 bolt(95-96) motors crank walk I have 2 in my shop right now with big holes blown in the side,(I have read that aparently they made slight changes in 97-99 7bolts and they arent as likely to crank walk). I would go with a 6 bolt to start your project, they are stout, and with the stock crank balanced and blueprinted those rods and pistons you have should be a good platform for 500+ hp

The stock crank will handle that power just fine. The only reason you would ever need to change cranks is if you decided to go stroker.

There was an article a few years ago in Import Tuner, a guy made 800+ WHP with the factory 7-Bolt crank. If you want to make sure it won't walk, buy a girdle and billet main caps. If you want 500-600HP you better start looking on how to get that power to the ground. Get a transmission capable of holding it, whether you buy one from dog box racing, shep racing, jacks transmissions, team rip or rebuild your own with team rip rebuild kit. A good clutch will be needed. A suspension to help control all of that power as well as a nice set of tires. You will need to make that stop so get some brake upgrades, at least pads and rotors. 500+ HP is what everybody seems to want, but HP doesn't make a car competitive, it has to be engineered to be competitive. Although it seems like Im giving you a hard time I am not, just trying to be real with you. Good luck on the build. post some pictures as you buuld it. we all like when others do build blogs and post pictures.

Thanks for all that info. Sounds like the crank is good. what is your suggestion on a girdle? since everyone says i have to worry about crank walk. is there anything else i should do to avoid crank walk?. I will have pics soon thanks again. everyone here helped thanks.
