Hi everyone.
This is my first post in the blog (after spent hours reading a lot of useful posts).
I'll introduce myself. I'm Samuel, an 2g eclipse lover. This 95 eclipse gs is my first car and I'm learning a lot about mechanical things (there is a new thing to fix on this car everyday jajaja, but I love it).
I'm from México and here is hard to find good stuff, I mean I can find sensors and almost every part of the car, but the brands are just trash. If I want good stuff, I need to go to a junkyard and look for used replacements or try to get them from someone in USA (very expensive btw). But leaving that aside, I'm really enjoying to restore my Eclipse!! Every wire I weld, every check engine code that I clear is like a shot of serotonin...
Back to the subject:
1995 DSM Eclipse GS
420a NA manual transmission
Recently I bought a 95 420a eclipse. It was in really bad conditions, I've been restoring it for about 1 year (bought on january 2021). Almost everything inside the motor is new. Also new sensors (carefully selected with the exact part number), tubes, etc.
2 weeks ago I put a new coilpack (the last one showed bad specs with the multimeter).
Now I'm having some issues with the eclipse, these are the symptoms:
*At this very moment, I don't have any check engine codes (the codes were cleared after making the proper fixes and never came back).
1.- Rough idle, also it just shutdown (like if I turn the key off) after seconds/minutes, only when idling.
1.5- Once I turn the key to ON position, I hear the click of arelay and the *bzzz* buzz of the Fuel Pump (well, I think is the Fuel Pump, let me know if there is something else that "sounds" when you turn the key to ON). But if I left the key in ON position for some time, then randomly I hear a click of a relay (don't know which exactly) and some warning lights in the dash (the check engine, battery, SRS and engine coolant level) turns on for a couple of seconds.
2.- Smell of gas and really poor gas mileage *On my last travel I spent like 1/4 tank on a 15miles trip!!
3.- Stuttering at low RPMs and the chek engine blinks while stuttering.
Yesterday I checked the spark plugs gap and they were out of specs, my mechanic did a mistake here, he set the gap at .043 and the manual says 0.048-0.053. So I set the correct gap and the behavior when idling is quite better, less rough and more silent, but it still shuts down at idle.
I've ordered a new set of spark plug wires, the NGK ME83. Last wires were too old. I hope to solve the gas smell and mileage, also the stuttering with this change (and maybe new spark plugs, I'm not sure if my mechanic put the right ones).
Now while I wait the wires to come, I'm trying to solve the shutdown at idle. I replaced the cam and crank sensors and the issue remains, so I'm thinking maybe the Fuel Pump relay and/or ASD relay could be the problem.
Does anyone have the Part Number of the Fuel Pump relay and ASD relay?
I found these part numbers:
MR76 == M04687567 Fuel Pump
MR78 == M04671056 ASD
But here in México I couldn't find them.
So maybe there is a replacement for each relay.
Can any of you guys help me to check your own relays and post the part numbers and a photo of them here? Also I need to see the wiring of the relay's connectors, my car has jumpers in the wiring so I want to restore it.
If you can post also a photo of the bottom of each relay I'll appreciate it (to see the numbers on the pin connectors, like the photo that I posted).
I read in some blog that this relay is the Fuel Pump Relay replacement: 0332209150 Bosch. Maybe any of you can confirm that.
But I couldn't find any replacement for the ASD relay.
I'll post an image of the relays that are in my car right now (they are the same):
Any help will be appreciated.
*I'm still learning english, so If I made a grammar mistake please let me know.
