is there any big diffrence in the launch of a awd auto then a awd manual like in acceleration. i'm planning on trading my 97 420a for a 92 tsi awd auto.

My 1G auto ran a 15.69 @90 with stock boost and leaving like a gramma because of traction, every run I got a little faster as I learned to launch it. An AWD auto should run easy 15.0 with just the boost turned up and running right. Crossfire's run 15.1 @ 93. Full Test: 2004 Chrysler Crossfire

Exhaust, cold air intake, more fuel and your gone.

I've done a little bit of research on the DSM auto,and it is apparently a beast.

BTW, 1G auto's use the 13g turbo. Quick spooler but not much up top.

so can i ask what would i need to run a 16g turbo at 20psi that means engine upgrades and tranny

Do some research, but I've heard 10's with just a line pressure mod.

Yep if you search you can find all the information you need. You may or may not to upgrade the tranny much

2G Maf
At least 550cc injectors
At Least a Walbro 190
Wideband AF gauge or EGT if you have the money
Datalogger
Intake
Exhaust
A form of tuning: SAFC, MAFT, DSMlink, Eprom chips,etc.

The stock engine is plenty capable of handling a 16G, so is the trans. I'd replace the clutch once it starts to slip under boost - which won't take long. So at least a "stage 1" clutch.

Like I said though - best to maintain it before you go spending all this money on mods before the car is even reliable.

Although other members said "search" I gave you a get out of jail free car on this research but we do ask that you search before you start a new thread on a topic that has more then likely been asked.

For example: Can you vent your stock BOV on the stock MAF : The answer is NO. Search BOV venting.
