I have read that all you need to do to get this to work is swap pins 6 and 14. I also know that the tach wont work because of the way the ignition sytem works. I was wondering if that is the only downfall and if it will run ok other that that. I have my origional ecu that I am getting rebuilt and socketed but bought a spare one for while I am waiting to get this done(a freinds mom who works for a circuit board company is doing it for me, might take a little while). I know I can change the ignitiol coil packs and stuff and that will fix the prob. but that would be stupid if I was just going to swap back to the origional. Any help would be appreciated.

M/T and A/T ECU's are different in 1g's since the autos came with smaller injectors so I hope you got a match for whatever tranny you have. Also, if it's another AWD ECU that you got, there is no speed limiter because AWD's came with better tires. If you got a FWD ECU, then there is a limiter around 130 or something like that.

And yes, swap pins 6 and 14.

I'm sorry was there some question we didn't answer in your other threads on this subject?

As long as you don't mind the tach acting up you don't have to do anything but swap 6 and 14 to use a 91-93 turbo 5-speed ECU in your 90 GSX.

Since you now know that your car is a '90 you might want to change your profile.

For what its worth, I think the speed limiter only refers to 2g DSMs, not 1g.

Agreed, I didn't think any of the 1Gs had a speed limiter, FWD or AWD.

In the other thread it was about my broken ecu, and when I asked about this no one replied so yes there is a question that was unanswered.
