Resolved 90 vs 91 DSM Parts Availability

Now before I get flamed about searching I've read a few posts about the differences between the 90 and 91 DSMs so I'm well aware of what the differences are.

I have a chance to pick up a 90 TSi this weekend for stupid cheap. Literally my only concern is that it's a 90 because I know there are some things that were 90 only. Anyone with 90's have trouble finding parts or anything like that?

These cars are getting harder to find these days so I just wanted to get a little input. The car I found is a hell of a deal so I'm planning on purchasing as long as it shouldn't be a huge pain being that it's a 90. It would be my 3rd DSM I've had 2 91 TSi's previously. Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks.

It's getting more difficult, but it isn't impossible to find '90 components. The other side of that coin is that anything '90 specific can be swapped to '91+ relatively easily.

I wouldn't let it being a '90 scare you off of it.

No it is not too overly hard to find 90 parts, it is still a 1g. I have owned 2 dsms 1 being a 90, only reason I switched to a 92 is I found a great deal on shell and never looked back.

Any 90 specific parts i need i just convert to 91+.

Thanks for the replies. Was kinda thinking what you guys said, just wanted to make sure it wasn't that big of a deal. I'm excited to be getting back into the dsm platform!

I have had no issues with owning a 90 and having to find parts. And like everyone said 91 stuff will swap over if you want to go that route.
