8 dollar cat back

Hey, I have a chance to get a 2.5 inch cat back from a junk yard off of a 92-94 non turbo talon for 8 bux. I was planning on getting the vrs 3" turbo back for 650 though. I know I will make more power with a 3' but wont it be alot easier to remove your oil filter with a 2.5" dp? What do you think? I am hoping for 300 at the wheels on pump with an evo 3 16g. It would cost 1/2 as much for 2 1/2" ehxuast instead of 3"

Well, I have caps. So I guess when I find some time I will check the part numbers for the 90-91 and the 92-94 exhuast. I guess I am just worried about getting the most out of my turbo right now, being that I have spent alot of time, money and blood on this car that doesnt even run yet. I was thinking about the oil filter housing also and was wondering how much of a pain in the ass it is to change with a 3" dp? I searched dp and didnt get much.

Not sure, it depends on the downpipe (whether its a full 3" or has a neck-down at the o2 housing. One think you could try is to use the oil filter off of a 3000GT, I use them on both my talons, the are fatter and shorter which will add a little bit more clearence.

damn man, i mean come on here were talking about a measly 8 dollars for a cat-back compared to Six HUNDRED dollars. Just buy the damn thing, even if it doesn't work the ####in thing costs' less than a case of beer.

i agree its only 8 bucks. U have nothing to really loose beside an hour to see if it fits.

if it doesn't fit throw it up in the classifieds for 50 bux plus shipping. You will make 40 bux if it doesn't fit or have a 10 dollar catback if it does. this is a no lose situation

Cool, I might do that. If I dont like the exhaust, (need more flow) one of you guys can pm me for first dibs for a cheap ass cat back. I hope it will still be there saturday, I think it will because its a redneck junkyard and that talon was hard to find anyway.

2.5" will flow well enough for plans of 300hp. If it is mandrel bent.
