No one has mentioned more torque from higher compression. And better off-boost MPG.

I never go to the track, and I am a daily driver and I do some pulls on the highway with other cars,...nothing like a race though, just a good pull...so 9 is better for that? or do I want the topend?

Youll have plenty of top end with 9:1. read the posts i just made haha. you can reap the benefits of both worlds with higher compression till a certain point. You not making an asinine amount of power and boost, can get the best of both worlds with the 9:1 and still run teh same boost you may have wanted too on teh 8.5:1's.

ok.. here is a scenario: both are 98 eclipses. gsx. have the same mods, same hp, same everything except on the amount of boost and pistons. ex only:
98 eclipse 8:5:1 running 30lbs of boost have 400hp
98 eclipse 9:1 pistons running 23 lbs 400hp. as well.

which one of these cars should have a better 1/4 ? or if its the same.

i know that its just what ive been reading. it allows u to run less boost but with the same hp.. but besides hp what else does it have an effect on. i think someone said torque above.

Higher compression (to a point) is better for a daily driver. I don't think anyone would disagree with that. Like everyone say's time and time again... it's all in the tune. :thumb:
