6 bolt swap timing covers

Can I use my 7 bolt timing covers on a 6 bolt long block? I hope.

I don't think so. The 6 bolt only uses 2 covers, the lower and upper. The 2g is 3 pieces, lower,mid, and upper. I think you have to get 6 bolt covers and then trim it for the 2g motor mount.

Yeah I was aware of the trimming but wasnt sure about the covers, crap i need to find some fast.

You can use the 7 bolt covers for the swap but you'll need to use the backing plates from your 7 bolt as well. No matter what cover you use, you'll have to do some trimming and there will be at least one bolt hole that won't line up with the cover holes. The main area requiring trimming will be the water pump area; a little time with a Dremel tool or belt sander works wonders! I prefer the multi-piece cover, anyway. It looks clean longer and is lees of a pain to remove in the car.

Sweet, becasue i havea brand new bottom cover and I wanted to use that one. The old one got chewed up when the crank pulley made contact.
