The crank on the engine I have in my car now walk out on me this Thursday I think so I am looking for some info on doing a 6-bolt swap. I say I think that the crank walked because I haven't really had much time to look at it yet, but the thing won't even turn over and it made some nasty grinding/clattering sounds right before it pooped out on me. Which makes me think that something internal on the engine whent wrong. I am working on getting a stock 6-bolt bottom end. I plan on putting the head from my car onto the 6-bolt block if nothing is wrong with it(The head, not the block). Basically what I need to know is, if I put my 2g head on the 1g block and use a 1g intake manifold with a 1g throttle body will I have to use the 1g CAS like they did up on the magnus motorsports website, or should I be able to use all of the stock 2g sensors? My tranny should bolt up to the 6-bolt, but when I get my new clutch will I need to get one for a 1g, or for a 2g? Also, since money is tight, how much power should a stock 6-bolt be able to take before things start to get risky? I was running a PTE 50 trim at 20PSI on my 7-bolt and want to know if this new motor will be able to take more or less power than the stocker. I would really like to tear everything down and get the motor built up right with a balanced rotating assembly and such, but seeing as my car is sitting in front of my house until I get a motor swapped in that is not possible. If there is something that really should be done to the new motor before it goes in let me know. Thanks.
