I'm going to be getting a 1G AWD Talon. ( I looked and didn't find this in the forum...sorry if it is a repost) I know that the 6-Bolt engine is better and so is the 4-Bolt rear end. A friend of mine told me that there is only 1 year that both of these are paired ('92 i believe he said). Is this true? If so are there any other years? Because that is what i want (obviously) :) :talon:

6 bolts are from 90-first half of 92
4 bolts are from 92-99

Figure it out.

But just because it's a 92 doesn't mean it has both. The combo was only available for about half of the 92 production.

92's w/7bolt motors are rare, I have yet to see one.

Come to oregon I'll show you one...

and Ill show you a gsx that some idiot put a 1.6l turbo mirage motor into it,

my buddies auto gsx always felt slow... well he crashed it then we found out after going to put the motor into another gsx that he really got owned and some dip put a 1.6l turbo mirage 4g61 in it, stupid ass's, so we checked and whoopie the new gsx had a 7 bolt in it, (dammit) was built 11/1992

so now he has 2 broken ass DSM's and not enough parts to get one running for cheap... prolyl going to have to rebuild the 7 bolt, the head is still good though.

If it's build date is 11/1992 it's probably a 93 model year...

Thanks for the help. Very appriciated. How can you tell if the motor is a 6-Bolt? Is it possible just by looking from the outside.... or do you have to look at engine/model #'s or something like that?
