6 bolt / 4 bolt Question

I have a quick question about which models had the 6 bolt engine with the 4 bolt rear. Im asking because im looking for an awd dsm. i know my 94 n/t has a 7 bolt and i just wanna make sure i get the 6 bolt when i get my new one. My friend told me they stopped making 6 bolt / 4 bolt combonation in the middle of 92. I think he knows what he is talking about but i just wanted to get a second opinion.

6 bolt engine - 90-mid 92
7 bolt engine - mid 92-94
3 bolt rear - 90-91
4 bolt rear - 92-94

One more question. How do i tell when the cars were made....will it say right on the tag on the inside of the door? or do i have to check the vin somewhere?

Yup, just look inside the door frame.

There's an easy way to check if you have a 7bolt by looking at the oil pan.
