6 Bolt 1G intake manifold on a 2G?

can you put a 1G 6 bolt turbo intake manifold on a 2G Turbo DSM? or do i need to find a 7 bolt engine 1G intake manifold?

Any 1g IM will work, that being said, unless you do ALOT of porting putting a 1g IM on a 2G head isn't really a good idea. The stock thinner ports on the 2g head give the air a nice straight shot at the valve, they also help keep velocity up. The porting needed to make the 1g IM match up screw up the angle at which the air enters the head.

Most shops will say this is not a good idea for the reasons stated above. For me I have toyed with the idea of putting a 1G SMIM on a heavily ported 2G head and have since changed my mind.
