6.5 inch speakers in the front

I want to install 6.5 inch speakers in the front doors but the mounting holes do not line up because the speaker is smaller. Do they make mounting plates or anything for this?

Nope. But you can make your own mounting plate. Depending on the size of the magnet, you may need to make a spacer to bring the speaker out away from the door far enough so the window can clear the magnet. once you make that spacer, just drill holes that allow you to mount the speaker and the spacer plate so they both come off at once.

Screw it directly into the plastic with short screws(1/2" should be plenty). If the speaker is too deep, cut some of the plastic out of the basket to get extra depth for the speaker magnet.

why would you want to put 6.5's in anyway? i put the stock size in some rockford fosgate speakers, and they BARELY fit becuase of the magnet. i wouldnt try anything bigger

Google has a conflicted answer on what is the OEM size.
I always thought the front doors speakers were 6 1/2.
Regardless you'll have to fab up something to make it fit.

Fronts are 5.25". And a 6.5" speaker will sound better and have better bass response than a 5.25" speaker will. That's why you put one in there.

if you want bass get a sub...? duh. i got my rockfords and a 12' in a vented box with a 1000w mono amp. but seriously take the 6.5's you want for the front sell em and get the right size?
