550's or 660's?

Hey allturbo where in socal are you located?

I live near West Covina. My settings are actually -37 @ 4K then go to -34 @ 7K. -28 seems way too rich. Do you have a datalogger or egt gauge? Just for reference my low settings are currently set to -18, -19, -21, -26 at 1,2,3, and 4K. This may or may not work for your setup, but it couldn't hurt to try. These settings get my LTFT (long term fuel trim) to hover from 0-5.

Have fun in tuning your in 660's :)

yea im in chino hills not to far, anyways. Im having a hell of a time tuning w/ the 660's. I have an egt, I do have a logger but my palm is broken. I need to get another asap.

Im running a walboro 190 fuel pump w/ my 660's. So basically right now im just tuning w/ my egt. I leaned out my afc to -38% for 3k, 4k, 5k and my car just misses and hesitates. Honestly I can hardly feel a diff between -28% to -38%. Im a little scared goin leaner then that, what do you think?

I was hoping to get my car semi-tuned and goin to fontana saturday for a couple runs but not at this rate :| any suggestions?

What are you boosting when you're at -38? What are your EGTs? I know I had a weird problem when I first put mine in. I have the Denso pump that RRE sells. When I first put the injectors in my fp was not rewired. For some reason I had my high settings tuned at -14 for 17psi. This seemed incorrect and I questioned if I actually had 550's. I tried going leaner and egt's would climb. After I found the time to do the rewire, everthing fell into place. Flooring it at -14 caused stumbing. I knew that it was running way too rich because it felt exactly like my car did when I used to run NOS and the bottle ran out. Is your fp rewired?

One more thing you could try is to lean it out more, but put some race gas for safe measure. There is some 100 oct gas at the 76 gas station right off the 10fwy at citrus. Not sure what else you can do until you get your logger back. Keep us posted.

thanks for all the help allturbo, Im boosting about 16psi. My fuel pump is not rewired, I knew I should of done it when i installed my pump. Do you think the rewire would help me that much?

When im boosting at -38% my egt's are slowly climbing, so im guessing im still rich or timing is being pulled. Also you can hear the car hesitating and missing. Is there any way to tell if im running too lean in my case (besides watchin the egts?)

O yea and how much is the 100oct. at 76? I might have to take a stop over there sometime this week

Didnt think tuning w/ the 660's would be such a pain in the ass, ah well I guess it will just take time and thanks again allturbo for you help!

hey no problem man, just as long as you put the smack down on all these Honda guys down here, any help given is well worth it :)

Not sure if a rewire will help you like it did me, but you should definately do it soon to eliminate that factor. Since your EGT's are going up slowly that should mean a rich condition, but timing is probably not being pulled because that would do the opposite. Did you do the blue wire mod for you SAFC? It's not the best o2 gauge, but would give you an idea if you were lean or not. BTW I haven't been to that gas station lately, but it's like 4-5 bucks a gallon. Oh and one more thing, can you describe the missing and hesitation that occurs. For example does it only happen at certain throttle or rpm posiions, etc. Good luck!! Keep me informed.

ok just got back from a little run down the 71 freeway.

I made my settings about 35% for 3k,4k, and 5k. It Got rid of the missing and my car felt nice. This was at about 17psi. My egts would climb nice and smooth and stop at about 890* by redline.

but....After a couple 3rd gear pulls the car started missing again and my egts were skyrocketing! So I let off and drove around off boost for a bit, then wot in 3rd gear again and it felt strong again!?! So I called it a night (its 2am) and wanted to get some sleep tonight.

Im wondering why the car would feel so strong one pull, then so horrible a couple runs later? O yea allturbo I didnt do the blue wire mod, I have an jumptronix a/f but It doesnt wanna seem to work right, Another thing I have to fix, think one of the wires is loose ( I have been so lazy w/ my car lately). And im not too worried about the honda boys LOL Im focusing on the v-8's they are much funner to run against

I would suggest 550's for big 28. How many people use 660's on a Big 16g not many.

Later,

I do. DSMLink can make any injectors idle and perform like stock (but w/ more flow obviously).
