I have decided that I want to make a tranny cooler for my 5 speed dsm. I plan on using an electric pump to move the fluid. But are there better places than others for tapping the tranny or could you just use the drain and fill holes with fittings? Also would there be a problem with over filling or the line draining back into the transmission and causing a problem? Would you benefit from adding extra volume aka a holding tank or something? What other issues should I be worried about? Or any other problems or ideas??
Thanks

If the pickup became obstructed and your system held more fluid than the case's maximum, you could blow seals out of the trans. If the return failed, you could run the transmission dry.

I cannot think of any circumstance in which a transmission cooler would be of any use on a manual-boxed DSM.

There have been a few dsmers and evo guys that have done this for either road racing or high speed pulls and believe that it helps keep the trans living longer. gixxerdrew had one if I remember correctly, although he also had squirters set up on his as well. Just looking for input on how and experience; not whether or not to do it. thanks
