5 speed conversion or torque converter???

ok, i have a 98 GST with 88K miles....daily driven, auto tranny...now i am wondering if i should swap my auto tranny to a 5 speed or just get a torque stall converter????

You already have a torque converter, i believe what your thinking of is a higher stall tc. If you have the money and the time, I would say swap to a manual.

I just did the swap. It depends on what u plan on doing w/ your car, whether or not to do it. I did it b/c i like them better and they are a lot more fun.

Btw does ne one if you can use the same axles when u do the swap or is there diffrent axles for auto and manuals on a 2g fwd?

Your lookin at around 2k give or take. That is w/ a used tranny, upgraded clutch and flywheel, and used parts from salvage yard.
