4G64 vs 2.3 stroker

I plan on running a GT3076R.

I know that the stroker will cost more then the 4G64, but in terms of reliability/spooling the turbo I have are they about the same?

I've spoken so many reputable shops that say the 4g64 block requires some serious beefing up... I'm not sure personally because I have never built one. Many people I've talked with also have said the 2.3 motors are what they would use or recommend. We will be putting a 4g64 block on an Evo shortly, I'll let you know how it goes, this one will be fully built, going for torque for short tight tracks around us.

Strokers do have more side load obviously. Just something to consider. Many have had luck with the 2.3 '63 though. How about a 2.4 with a 4g head? Even better would be to destroke that 2.4 but bang for the buck id take the 2.4 over the stroker. Just my opinion. I talked to a guy from JAM over the phone when i was heavily leaning towards a stroker and he kinda pushed me in the direction of sticking with my 2.0. But to each his own. PLENTY of people runnin the piss out of 2.3's and making huge numbers.

With the 4G64 I was planning on running forged internals and the like any how- with the 4G63 head.

Problems with the 2.4l is the cylinder bores. Because it is basically a .060" over bored 2.0, the fire ring squish/clamp area has decreased leading to head gasket problems with higher cylinder pressures with lots of boost and timing.

With the turbo I have on hand then would the stock displacement work just fine I take it?
