Milpitas,
California
Mostly complete. (Removed from a crashed '91 AWD Talon hit in the quarterpanel.)
The odometer showed 100k miles.
MISSING: injectors, water pump, alternator. Oil filter mounting surface/oil cooler is damaged. I doubt the filter gasket will seal.
ENGINE HAS BEEN SITTING IN THE GARAGE SINCE '05, WHEN IT WAS PULLED
Has: complete turbo setup. Turbo appears good, no play in bearings. Looks to be oem type.
All 4 oem motor mounts. A/C compressor setup. Power steering pump. Ignition system. Intake and exhaust manifolds. Exhaust has the usual cracks in the collector area
Includes: NEW Gates water-pump and Gates timing belt and rollers kit, still NIB. (had intended to swap this into my car, but car is sold)
Flywheel was badly re-surfaced, but may be salvageable. Idiot shop cut it with a taper.
Engine is strapped on a small pallet with new casters for easy garage movement. Goes with engine. Pallet may be forklift suitable.
I'm assuming that it was a stock motor. The injectors and ECU were already gone when I looked at the car, and I have not pulled the valve cover to look at the cams. Engine was turning and the timing belt was good.
**************
(the alt and water-pump were used on my car. New pump bearings seemed to be bad, went through several before yanking this one. Turns out they require an insane amount of preload to get the bearing elements to roll, instead of skid, as the impeller shaft rotates.
>>>>That screech you hear when you start the car? That is probably the bearing, not the belt.<<<< Tighten it up some more. This is why alternators don't last very long on the DSMs, too much load for their wimpy bearings -one of which is only available in Japan.)
********************
Questions?
I'd prefer to sell it as a package.
If it needs to be shipped, you will have to arrange for that. It will roll onto a lift gate, and/or the wheels can be removed for a pallet jack. I have an engine hoist that may be able to put it into a pickup bed, if it's not jacked up.
