Yes this is one reason. Second reason is the pipe will never need to be replaced. Third reason is the whole car is custom made so there is no kit i can buy.

my monte weighed in at 3250lbs with a all cast iron 350 with a big 700r4. so i am estimating that my car will be about 2800lbs when completed. so its not as heavy as you think.
