Ahh! Now I'm getting your point. That kit comes with an intercooler, injectors, the turbine, and what else?

no the the just the turbo itself is 1000-1500 dollars but to make the EVO turbo work you will need custom IC piping instead of the normal piping that will fit a regualr dsm turbo.

Got the solution to the reversed engine problem. The Evo 1,2, and 3's had their engines facing the same way the eclipse has its. They reversed the engine from the Evo 4-7's. I don't know why. By the way, I do have a pic or two of my car. One of them is when I was working on it in the shop. I took my Bomex bumper off because I was putting my front mount intercooler in. Just one problem. How do I attach pics to my messages? I'm new here, as you can see.

They switch the side that the motor was one was for better weight distubution. (comes down from the ralley experiennces.)

That's expensive for just one turbo when I know I can get the Intercooler,Turbo, Injectors, Airflow, Blow off, Fuel Pump, And Evo Cams for just around 1500. That's just one turbo! True, the manifold will be killer, but still, you would pay about 700 or more for an intercooler the size of an Evolution intercooler , in the States. And you still have to make piping. A kit will run you about a grand or more. Over here piping is a 300 dollar job. I don't know about over there.

Over here you can get greddy Piping for 225 dollars.

since the engine in the lancer evo 4-7 is the the same side as the NA eclipse, could you do a swap?

IPT, good going! I didn't know that was the reason for engine being reversed. I guess they had to do something because the Imprezza is well balanced and was killing the Rally world for a while there. Even now they're still a thorn in the side for Mitsubishi.

I heard they have the new Lancer in the States. Yet, once again I heard the car makers copped a squat and gave the States a Cedia Base model Lancer.....no turbo and no advanced suspension. Just a shell) instead of the true Rally bred EVO. I feel so sorry for the States. I've been to Australia and They have everything that Japan has. We're the only country that get's crapped on. Why is that.

Maybe not, Ryan. The transaxles were different. The non turbo 2nd generation eclipse didn't have a 4G63 at all. It had some Crappy Chrysler made engine. Then again, it could be possible. Let's ask the experts what they think. Fellas?!......

Anything is possible with enough money but it not be for the normal tuner. It would cost way too much to custom mount the engine AWD tranny, xfer case and diffs and driveshaft.

Ya we now have a "Lancer." We don't get any of the real EVO style stuff. It seems everyone sells the cosmetic evo stuff for pretty much any jap car but its hard to get all the engine stuff. the stuff that counts. We used to just have the mirage coupe and mirage sedan. With how different they are I'm kinda glad they finally changed the sedan over to the lancer even tho we dont get all the cool stuff that should come with it.

I miss my 4th gen mirage coupe :-(

But wait, I just remembered that I was going to sell it so I could buy an eclipse before I totaled it. Oh well, I still miss it.

Mr. "LarryD". Sir, thank you for the warm welcome. As far as me putting the forum here, that was out of ignorance. I'm new here and just wanted to know a few things. I didnt know it was such a big deal or "CYBER SIN". I didn't know anyone was dying because of this dicussion being here. If that were the case, I'd move it now. :) Everyone is being really respectful to one another and helpful with all their input. It's good to see people getting along with no bickering. I guess what I'm trying to say to you is, IF THE WEBMASTER DOESN'T HAVE A PROBLEM WITH ME PUTTING THIS FORUM ON TECH RELATED ISSUES HERE, NO ONE ELSE SHOULD EITHER. Thank you for you input though.

Now! Back to what we were discussing.

I don't think Larry was trying to be rude, he's just doing his job. Welcome to the site...I know a few guys locally that have silvia's and they are really nice car's. As far as stuff here, we sorta get the shaft, hence no silvia, no true evo, no rx-7 etc thats still made elsewhere.

Okinawa Boy,

Telling Larry off.... hehe LOL. Dame Dame Dame. Sumimasen. Gomen ne, Larry san, eh?

Anyway, just wanted to share with you a thought from a fellow former Japanese servicemember. I presume you are a servicemember due to the haircut and being in Okinawa. Jarhead I presume, although your excellent grammar and spelling has me wondering. j/k ;) I was 5 years in Yoko and 2 years in Sasebo. Did not get into DSMs or Japanese imports until 1997 and by that time I only had two years left in Japan. Never made it to the Auto Salon, unfortunately...

To continue, just wondering if you have considered the possibility of bringing over a Skyline. Prior to my leaving Japan in 1999, Motorex had just gotten the DOT approval to import Skylines but were not in the business of certifying Skylines brought into the States by other means. I recently visited their site and discovered that they now offer such service. Since picking up a used R32 or even R33 is relatively cheap and since Uncle Sam would pay for shipping it over, that would be my desire if I had the chance to do it over again.

Because you are into Sylvias and wanted to get a ride in the SIGNAL Skyline, I thought you may be interested in that bit of NISSAN news.

Good Luck.

I've plaid with an EVO V mas, it looks exactly like a 2G mas. The calibration is a bit different though. We had all kinds of problems running it on a 1G with and AFC and 550s. Took it out, put in a normal 2G mas, solved all the driveability problems.

I looked at importing a skyline myself, motorex charges $17k for their services. It's not as cheap as it appears :(.
There are quite a few skylines near me, all but one have pics on here:

Alex just clicked off a high eleven with his white R32. It is the same car that was in SCC a little over a year ago.
