4g63 8valve sohc - tc06-11a lag?

gday all, just joined this forum as i have a mitsi starion with a 4g63 2.0 sohc with a modified tc06 11a on it .. it has a little lag... as the turbo doesnt kick in until it hits around 3000-3500 is this normal ? i want to intercool the car as i can do it fairly cheap but will this produce even more lag? thanks all

That does sound normal for it yes. And yes and no on the intercooler. The lag will be minimal with a good core.

thanks for the reply mate, what size cooler would you recommend for this application? i have been looking at a cheap ebay one for 100$ new which is 500X180x60mm is this a good size or should i go smaller or larger? cheers mate

If your trying to keep lag down I don't know if I'd use a eBay core. They "work" but their design isn't the best. Look for a more reputable company core. Treadstone may have a good core. Get the biggest one you can fit is my advice.

ebay have some Greddys for a good price.. around 150 each or so .. unsure if they are legit and real tho possibly a chinga fake..

Yeah that would be a good core. I've seen that fin design before. It works pretty good.
