:toobad: OK, I just bought a couple of 4g64 2.4 cam gears off of Ebay. It was close to the end of the auction and I didn't look close enough at the description. I thought it was a good price, so I bid. Anyway, does anyone know if the gears are the same or if I need to resell the gears.:toobad:

The gears are not the same. I'm not sure on the details but, I know they are different. Were they stock replacements or aftermarket?

They are stock Mitsu replacements.

I think the timing marks are like half a tooth off.

The 2.4 cam sprockets have one extra tooth making it impossible to get your timing to line up (they will be half a tooth off as was stated). Try selling them on here to someone who is doing a 2.4 4gcs/4g64 swap.

I hope you didnt pay much because you can get both sprockets from the dealership for less than $40. Im sure the 2.0 sprockets are similar in price.
