hey all, my brother just bought a 97 GS, i was wondering if my motor ( minus the turbo ) put out the same power as his. He obviously has a 420A 2.0 Dohc N/t, and my motor is a 4g63 2.0 Dohc Turbo.. of course im just wondering motor to motor, ignore the T. So the question is, 420A to 4g63, whats the opperating differences? compression? better economy? weaker... any of these will do, and more would be appreciated. Thanks

all your questions will be answered here.
There is a war going on about the diff between the motors. the obvious dif is the 420a is made by chrysler and the 4g63 is a mitsu motor. The 97GS is heavier than you 1g. They say crankwalk is a MF on 4g63 BUT the 420a's are prone to spun bearings(never had that problem myself and I am at 145k) Go to the website and it will tell you EVERYTHING :thumb: :thumb: :dsm: :talon: :laser:

Good info!

Good site, but there is one error I noticed right off the bat. It said in 1993 the "big brakes" became standard on the turbo models. They didn't, they only became standard on AWD models.
