3rd gear is randomly notchy unless...

....I hit soak the cables at the tranny housing with deep creep or PB blaster. This stops the notchiness for a few weeks. It is not a grind or anything. It just feels ever so slightly notchy going in...different from the other gears. I have tried every tranny fluid mix but nothing fixes it. This all started after I blew up my PTT clutch and replaced it with and XTD Stage 3 setup. I replaced the bushings with aluminum ones and have adjusted the shifter cable a million times.

No big deal really...just wanted to know.

One thing I would test is putting the rubber bushings back in and see if the issue goes away. There is a chance that the issue has always been there but it was masked by the soft bushings and now that everything is solid you can feel it.
