3g Steering Wheel Conversion

Does anyone know the interchangability between the 1/2/3/4g eclipse steering wheels? Evos? Also any ideas on the wiring of the cruise control lever to adapt it? I was looking to try and put a 3g steering wheel in my 2g. But if its easy, Im open to even an evo or 4g. I have no idea if it would just bolt right in or what, I'd also like to retain the cruise control lever functionality also. Just trying to modernise the interior a bit. Thx for your help.

1G 2G and 3G wheels are all interchangeable.
But the EVO wheels use a different spline pattern.
I have seen people weld in the center spline to use use the EVO wheel on a DSM.

Anyone ever try an 06+ wheel?

Does the 4g 2006 + cars have the same spline size? I can get a good deal on one, just dont know if it would work looks like no one has ever tried this.

One discouraging factor is the the airbag. Do you know how you will approach that?
It might be awfully un-scientific, but Defiant has me scared shitless to start unplugging and replugging the airbag control module with different hardware/hookups.
