The runs at fine but when high acceleration or boost hits it stutters and the BOV goes crazy.
Was running rich due to Vented BOV but fixed that by getting a recirculating BOV. Now the car runs better no black smoke but stutters. PCV valve was disconnected and spitting oil out of both valve cover vent and pcv valve. Found out the owner before me had painted the valve and it was stuck. So i popped on a fitting and made an oil catch can. stopped the oil problem but still experiencing the stutter and crazy bov. Tried pressure testing the system but it held 22psi no problem and Im running a stock t25 turbo. only other thing I can think of is the guy before me took off the SAFC I have an SAFC2 i can throw on but im trying to weed out what is wrong before adding to the problem. Thanks for any help and yes i did use search to try and figure out what was wrong but couldnt find any of the common problems. Also did change the spark plugs.
Thanks

You say you replaced the BOV with a recirculating BOV. What BOV? Stock, 1g, aftermarket?

When I got the car it had an aftermarket vented one I swapped it for a recirculating on my friend had lying around I believe it is an eBay type rs bov. Doing this fixed the problem a little bit but then was spitting oil out of the pcv into the intake. Fixed that with a catch can but still suttering just not as bad and seems to be running rather ritch

Is the BOV adjustable at all? Maybe BOV fluttering? Do you or can you get any data logging devise?

I have had a tiny issue with BOV fluttering in the past, but it wasn't hard stuttering at all. On the other hand, I have had two turbo cars that experienced spark blow out, that stutters the car pretty hard. Your on stock boost level?

Since you are still on the t25 there is really no need for a safc unless you have bigger injectors..I would say double check the gap on your plugs and make sure u have the 6es ones.

I'm working on figuring out boost level getting boost gauge this week or just tearing apart my compressor to use that one LOL.

As for safc 2 the only reason I'm asking is it previously had one and I didn't know if I needed one to get back to stock ecu settings if it was just taken out and not reset.

Thanks for all the help I have also tried the bov on hardest and softest setting still same thing.

Hmmm, sounds like the good old over looked spark plug wires as well. Cheap wires are horrible for not last and/or holding load for your plugs no matter low/mid/hi rpm. Try getting ngk 7es', -1 range cooler and safe for stock turbos, and set of Accel, msd or magnacore wires (cheap to exp) your pick. Also, take the car out, turn off radio at night (less noise with no traffic) windows up and listen for the slightest cherp/ squeal from your back seat. You'll be hearing your fuel pump giving out, some are loud and some are kinda quiet with trying to hear it. Thats 4 main big issues there. Lastly check your fuses, i dont remember on but you may have a cracked fusible link, clear top fuses in engine bay. That was my biggest over looked issue in my 1g, there are 2/3, believe it or not mine was cracked at the base where the terminals connect, found it in the dark with a low lvl flash light. Work out your pcv issue and you should be ok from there. Best of uck and hope this helps.

Thanks all for the help! I ended up figuring Out another problem. Disassembled the inter cooler piping just to double check and found a piece of hard plastic used for a spacer in a few of the pipings. I'm thinking it's the cause of the bost leak bc it looks like it has moved around.
Also will check the spark plugs when I can I'm not sure what kind they are but they are the blue ones and also tried with some stock ones I had laying around if that would make a difference or not still the weird stutter. Will post an update after new seals are in!

I have gone through three sets of NGK wires so far in the last 15k (NGKs are blue) whenever I got a stumble under WOT I knew my wires went bad, swapped them and the issue always went away. If you do decide to change them out I would recommend upgrading to the accel, msd, or magnacore as suggested above.

Thanks for all the help.
As for the pcv system I plugged the hole on the intake manifold . Took the pcv valve off of the valve cover then routed that to a paintball air container made into a catch can. Then back to the valve cover breather hole. I followed a guild to rerouted it. Also plugged the hole in the air filter intake.

I was pretty sure close to stock. Just a t25 no boost controller guy removed it and I have yet to put mine on. Also haven't put bost gauge on yet. But the stock one doesn't move at all really. At most though I'd guess 15 as that's what the guy said he was running before

Just an update if anyone was wondering what all ive found out. Checked the spark plug wires they are an autozone "oem" brand. Replaced them with a friends stock gsx wires with only 40xxx miles just for now. Intercooler was full of oil due to the pcv valve but cleaned that out with diesel.
I think the "boost leak" is from the dumb rubber spacers the owner before me put in as with cold air they seem to hold up boost in a boost leak test but my friend heated them up with a heat gun and they failed the boost test.
Havent put it together yet to test fully as found more "modifications" the oil feed line was replaced with a braided line that was just conected to the hard line fitting not the turbo. ordered the fitting to run it to the turbo. Also found 4 gaskets on the oil drain line causing the small oil leak i noticed
Turbo is newer though no to very minimal shaft play feels like none but friend said he felt a little. and turbo itself passes a boost leak test so seals are fine.
In the processes of fixing the vacuum system as it is not correct at all. hoses are T'd off and going extra places they shouldnt so most likely replacing them all with new lines.
Planning on having her running again within the next two weeks just doing maintanance and break job. will update when it is together to check the stutter problem.
Also any ideas of getting a new timing belt. owner before me said it was done within the past 10xxx miles but after all his other maintenance im not sure if it was done correctly. it is in time but i just want to make sure it was done correctly and is tight enough.
