3" apexi n1 exhaust for gsx on a gs?

hey guys im new to the forum.... this may or may not be a dumb question... but can a 3" apexi n1 catback exhaust for a 99 gsx fit on a 97 gs? only thing ever done to the car was an engine swap with a 99 gs cause the old 1 was blown... other than that.. cars completely stock.. only reason why i might do it is because the guys sellin his exhaust for dirt cheap..

Don't do it. A friend (who shall remain nameless) went 3" on a GS and lost a good amount of power. At least it felt that way on the butt dyno.

won't work bend isn't aggressive enough to go over the control arm.
I have an apexi awd exhaust on my car...kind of i cut everything off the catback and just went custom and used the n1 muffler

You need one off a GST.


Plus for N/A you dont want 3''. You will LOSE power.

And the GST exhaust is proven to be good too.

OR... instead of a 3" go 2.5". There is a thread or something that's all about exhaust flow and performance. You would want to get rid of backpressure but a 3" will not help you at all. Think of a watering hose. You want the best velocity for the exhaust to exit. Sometimes bigger isn't better

Very true, 2.5" or even 2.25" will keep your Db's down while still yielding excellent torque in the lower rpms. If you happen to delete your cat you may still want to add a resonator where the cat was, flowmaster has some budget one's that perfom well too

I thought the 420A stock exhaust was 2.25"? Or were they 2? Shoot dang, Correct me if I'm wrong.

Stock exhaust is 2 1/4"

Edit: In the future if you need that thread, just search "scoop backpressure", it's the only one that comes up.
