I definitely want to the drum to disc conversion in the rear, Its extremely rusty right now, so it would be an appearance thing as well.

Any recommendations on brake pads? I was thinking ceramic with the drilled and slotted rotors off eBay (also appearance from what I understand) but the ceramic pads offer a greater coefficient of friction (better than semi-metallic?)

How to make sure the calipers / rotors and everything down there don't rust out as bad as my drums? Ill be using the car for winter driving in NY!!

While I'm down there I might as well clean up and paint the suspension parts to prevent rust, will primer + undercoating work fine?

Powder coat your brake calipers. Hawk pads are good, you could look into those.

Use this for your rust prevention coating:

This stuff is expensive, but works good, it doesn't end up soft like most undercoating, its rock hard. You can paint over it too if you want all the parts to be gloss black or something.

Other than that just wash your car at least once a week during the winter and spray the hell out of the wheel wells and all the parts you don't want to rust.

Don't go with anything off ebay. When it comes to breaks you need high quality. I whould try Big breaks its around 1,500 for set of 2 but worth it.

yea I'd be in for a stock set over $1500 for rear brakes, that's nuts. For rust, get something, anything on there (caliper brush on paint?) and rinse the salt off, you'll be fine.

I think it is best just to use the gs/gst rear rotors. A lot of people who buy the slotted and drilled rotors complain about how fast they go through pads and drilling weakens the rotor quite a bit so cheap ebay crap on something that could break, lock up your tire, and slam you into a freeway divider isn't the best idea. Just MO.

I did this conversion on my old RS-t, was really easy and straight forward.. just have some patients and a friend to help hold stuff.

It's been several incorrect shipments, a caliper seal got torn from over-cleaning (yes it's possible), and all the tools have been stolen. But it got done using the backup hardware! The brake response is insane. I can now lock up all wheels whenever I feel it's necessary (never?) or entertaining (always).

Which one? The inboard rocker, upper control arm, or the gas filler tube? Lol fix it. Stopping looks like the least of his worries until he hits the brakes hard and rt wheel flies off!

Right, that has nothing to do with stopping. The whole suspension assembly has nothing but a little surface rust. The gas filler has surface rust as well.

The rocker is the next thing to get fixed. I'm pricing around now. Getting it welded and I already have 9 cans of rubberized undercoating ready to go.

The guy who owned the car before me did a bunch of cheap cover ups just to get it sold and it has been problem after problem since. I am making the car better, but it takes some time.

Don't be such a smart ass.
